PTR Welcomes New Faculty Member – Dr. Randy Hatton

RandyHattonThe PTR department is pleased to announce the appointment of Randy Hatton, PharmD, BCPS, FCCP as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research.  Dr. Hatton will be the academic director of the second year of the College of Pharmacy’s 2015 curriculum. He currently teaches the evidence-based pharmacy course and content throughout the first 3 years of pharmacy education. He also serves as a clinical pharmacist in Internal Medicine Service at UF Health Shands Hospital, providing clinical pharmacy services while supervising working-professional doctor of pharmacy students.

Dr. Hatton received a BS degree in pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and a PharmD degrees from the University of Florida. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UF. After a brief period of time working as a clinical pharmacist in Longwood, FL, Dr. Hatton returned to Gainesville as a Team leader (Clinical Pharmacist) in internal medicine at Shands Hospital. He later became director of the drug information service. Dr. Hatton was also instrumental in developing the exemplar block program for APPE rotations in Shands. A publication describing the block program can be found here. Dr. Hatton is an elected Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and a member of ASHP and FSHP.
