Graduate student Eunjeong Shin awarded ACCP Foundation Futures Grant

Elena ShinEunjeong Shin, M.S., a second-year graduate student in the department of pharmacotherapy and translational research, has received a Futures Grant Student Investigator Award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Foundation. The $5,000 award will support Shin’s research efforts around systematically optimizing synergistic β-lactam antibiotic combinations to combat resistant bacteria. Her study features experimental approaches based on the mechanism of β-lactam antibiotics action against bacteria and quantitative and systems pharmacology modeling.

Shin’s mentor is Jürgen Bulitta, Ph.D., a professor of pharmacotherapy and translational research in the UF College of Pharmacy.
